This notice describes the Android version of Make a Life: Together, including the closed Google Play test. For visits to our website, the notice at https://engamo.studio/en/privacy/ also applies.

2. Saved games and settings on your device

The app stores households, characters, names you enter, relationships, rooms, furniture, pets and game progress on your device. This also includes settings, save previews, local backup copies and locally stored unlock status. Test versions may also store the selected test unlock.

You do not need an Engamo account. Characters’ contacts, messages, relationships and needs are simulated gameplay. They do not access your address book, real messages or health data. Please use fictional names for your characters. The app currently does not transmit your saved games to an Engamo game server and does not provide its own cloud synchronisation.

Storage allows you to continue your game and retain your chosen settings. Where personal data is processed, this serves to provide the game you requested (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Local data remains until you delete it. You can delete the app’s data through Android settings; this will remove local saved games and settings. Any operating system backups or copies you create are managed separately. Deleting local app data does not delete Google Play purchases.

3. Purchases and restoration through Google Play

The app includes a free demo. The full version and the pet expansion can be unlocked through separate one-time in-app purchases. The Android version uses Google Play Billing for this purpose. The purchase dialogue and payment processing are handled by Google Play. Payment details such as full card or bank account details are not entered into the game interface and are not stored by the game logic.

The app requests product information and existing purchase entitlements. To unlock and acknowledge purchases, it processes product identifiers, purchase states and purchase tokens supplied by Google Play. The device stores which products were most recently confirmed as unlocked. The current game implementation does not include its own server-side purchase verification at Engamo. The app may check entitlements with Google Play again when it starts or returns to the foreground.

This processing serves to handle, provide and restore your purchases (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Google processes data about store use, your account, device and payments under its own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en. That policy also explains recipients, international processing, retention periods and your Google settings. For Google Play users in the European Economic Area, Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, is particularly relevant; the company responsible for individual payment services is identified in the relevant Google service.

As the provider, we receive information and reports about purchases, billing and refunds through Google Play. Where these contain personal data, we use them to perform the contract and meet legal obligations (Article 6(1)(b) and (c) GDPR). Records subject to statutory retention requirements and specific disputes may be retained for longer than the app’s technical data. For operational support and retention rules, see section 5 and our supplementary studio privacy notice.

4. Advertising, analytics and test versions

The current app does not include advertising networks, advertising ID use, our own analytics SDKs or our own automatic uploads of game logs. This is separate from processing carried out independently by Android and Google Play: the testing platform may, in particular, process installation, device and diagnostic information and feedback you submit, and provide us with reports. The platform’s settings and privacy notices also apply.

The integrated Google Play Billing library also includes technical diagnostic functions. These may transmit information about how the purchase integration works, such as technical events and errors as well as app, library and operating system versions, to Google. This processing takes place through the Google library integrated into the app and is separate from diagnostic information collected independently by Android or the Play Store. A test unlock does not automatically disable the billing library. The privacy policy linked in section 3 also applies to Google’s processing.

The closed test’s unlock switches let you try the game without making a purchase. They do not create a purchase and do not require personal payment details. The app does not offer chat with other players or publication of saved games or character names.

5. Contact and support

If you contact us, we process your contact details and the information you send, such as your app version, device, description of the issue and optional attachments, so that we can reply. Please only send information needed for your enquiry. For contract-related support, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR; for other enquiries, it is our legitimate interest in handling them under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

For recipients, hosting, backups and retention of our support emails and tickets, see the detailed notice at https://engamo.studio/en/privacy/. It describes, in particular, our service providers SiMa Design and Hetzner and retention of ordinary resolved support enquiries for twelve months. Statutory retention requirements and evidence needed in disputes remain unaffected.

6. Children and young people

The game is intended for children aged nine and above, teenagers and adults. It does not require a separate user account or real names. Children should ask their parent or guardian for help with purchases and support enquiries. Purchase confirmation and any parental approvals depend on the settings of the Google account used. The app does not ask children to publish personal information.

7. Your rights

Where the legal requirements are met, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. You may object to processing based on legitimate interests on grounds relating to your particular situation. You may withdraw any consent you have given with effect for the future. Contact support@engamo.studio. We do not have remote access to data stored exclusively on your device.

You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular where you live or with the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia: https://www.ldi.nrw.de/kontakt. The game logic does not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

8. Changes

We update this notice when features or data processing change. The date above identifies the version described.
